SAP to Co-Sponsor OMG's Atlanta, Georgia Technical Meeting
Atlanta, Georgia, U.S.A., September 12-16, 2005

Needham, MA, USA - August 16, 2005 - The Object Management Group™ (OMG™), today announced that SAP is co-sponsoring its September Technical Meeting in Atlanta, Georgia, U.S.A.

During the meeting week, members will advance technology through the group's adoption process, attend special events such as the "Model-based Management" Information Day and "Leveraging IT Standards for Regulatory Compliance Requirements" seminar; attend tutorials on topics such as Model-Driven Architecture®; and view demonstrations of OMG standards-compliant products. In addition, SAP will give a plenary presentation on:

  • "Model-Driven Business Process Platforms," presented by David Frankel, Lead Standards Architect - Model Driven Systems, SAP Labs LLC

"We are pleased that OMG's growth since the launch of the Model Driven Architecture initiative has been so broad, as evidenced by SAP co-sponsoring this meeting. SAP's broad interests in MDA, business process modeling and other areas led to their co-sponsorship," said Dr. Richard Soley, chairman and CEO of OMG. "We are especially excited to see David Frankel's new affiliation, representing SAP and leading SAP's modeling vision worldwide. As one of the earliest proponents of Model Driven Architecture and quite literally the man that wrote the book, his focus on modeling solutions is a big boost to SAP's modeling technology."

"Model-driven tools are critical to the Enterprise Services Architecture (ESA) because they make it easier for our customers to use services to compose innovative applications that run on SAP NetWeaver," said George Paolini, Executive Vice President of SAP's Ecosystem Platform Organization. "SAP's sponsorship of the OMG Technical Meeting and participation in the evolution of modeling standards reflects our commitment to the OMG community. We are very pleased to have David Frankel, a leader in the model-driven systems community who recently joined SAP, spearheading our OMG activities and guiding our model-driven systems strategy."
